I thought he might get into a bit of trouble over that. Just a slap on the wrist will be the end result. He's well loved in the IOM. Article is full of inaccuracies, he's been racing there since 2004 and the lap record is 17.06, plus the speed limit on Sulby Straight is 30mph.....

Here's what the locals are saying:

great viral marketing, ive seen threads on nearly every car/bike forum so far and spreading to more general news too

just what you need a guy like Guy Martin to drive your car for, everyone is talking about 180mph Aston Martins now smile

theres no proof, it may as well be pub talk or kids bragging in a playground about how fast their dad drove last night LOL

So, I'm looking at the link the OP provided, and my first thought was "Wait, AOL is still a thing?"

If there's a grain of truth in Guy Martin's adolescent claim then there are a considerable number of people fortunate to still be alive today and not victims of a head-on crash with a two & a half tonne vehicle traveling at 180mph on the wrong side of the road towards them. It's either pure fantasy or potential culpable homicide.
Bloody heavy Aston that!

Guy has caused controversy pretty much since his first short circuit race and getting banned...hence heading over to Ireland for a race licence and getting into the scene there

Funny though I remember reading his book and get got rid of his old Vantage V12, didnt think the image suited him or something like that ...obviously getting him into a Vanquish on the island is a good bit of marketing wink

Just Googled the title of the thread. Like you say a brilliant bit of viral marketing - 8 pages of it on Google search!
