Dash lights for speedo

As I turned my lights on today to tackle the wet and windy drive to work the heater controls/stereo etc lit up as usual, but there was no illumination of all the dials. obviously something has gone/fused but I am waiting on my copy of Bible to arrive, Any ideas chimfans?

Are you sure you've not turned em off? I've done that with my left knee a few times.

There's a push button under the dash, to the left of the steering column. I hope that's what it is. Good luck & let us know.

Twas the push button! I am amazed at how nice you guys are on here, even with a complete doofus question. Wearing a balaclava today because of red face. Still, as my old man said "every day is a day at school"

Don't worry, lol

Its a classic question from a new owner. The other one (which I posted on here asking within days of buying mine) is how to change the lower speedometer blub - there isn't one, they are all dim because they only have one bulb.

I've been meaning to ask whether there was a lower speedometer bulb on here for ages - thank goodness I didn't embarrass myself.......oh pants I just have!

Well done! I was so excited when I got my first Chim I roared off without knowing how to put the fuel in. I really panicked when I couldn't find the fuel cap!

My 'moment' came on a cold wet december night. The car had been delivered during the day. So I went of for a drive. Ended up at a friends house. No where to turn round & pitch black so into reverse.......er um?! Took us both about 20 min to push it back down the lane & onto the road. I was flapping big time. I couldn't remember using reverse during the road test & thought I'd just found out why it was cheap! Was I ever a happy bunny when I got home & read the hand book!

You can get the speedo to be as bright as the other instruments by putting a slightly higher wattage bulb in. Take the old one out and go to a good motorfactors (or dig around at Halfords) and you'll find the same size bulb with a higher rating.
