Speed Cameras on the M25 South

I am driving on the M25 daily through the variable limits J10 - 13.

I cruise through <> 5 Mile over what is displayed but other cars fly past !!


Are these cameras actually turned on at the moment as I haven't seen a flash from one in months ????

Haven't been through there with my Snooper for a while, but in the past normally one or two gantries are live - but whether they are actually capturing is another question. Have certainly been through the entire section at 90 flavins per burble recently with no sign of NIPs (yet...)

I agree with you, on the M25, in the variable bits, lots of traffic seems to be ten to fifteen mph over the limit without problems.

Not quite sure what they are set at, but for the volume of traffic, if the real limit was anything near the value on the signs, then there would be a deluge of speeding tickets.

5 mph over is no problem at all. Quite legal, in fact. Speedos overread.

i go through there regularly at approximately 90 kleptions ber bibble and haven't been flashed or got an nip yet

Indeed they do - The law allows speedos to have an accuracy of 0%/-10% ie they should NOT underread. Stats show an average speedo error of -5% to -7%.

I know any SCP would have a very hard time justifying a ticket for 31 in a 30.

They *really* have got better things to do.

No way.....has to be 10% plus 2mph. (if received ticket for less than this appeal)

According to previous posts there is a delay on the variable signs. I find I can travel safely at ~92 on the speedo but any faster then you get nervous as you tend to stick out a bit by travelling substantially faster than most.

I do that trip daily as well and am as probably one of the guilty ones that travel consistently faster through those parts, some camera's work, but i've only seen them flash in lane 3, not 12 or 4, so i always stick to lane 4.

Hey Sadako.
In that case, you'll likely find the offender's speedo was reading 32-33.

How do you know that sussex are doing drivers at 1mph over the limit? where was the camera? was it you who got the speeding 'ticket'?
