Bus Lane Cameras - Question

I was driving down through Vauxhall last night (8.00pm)and used a bus lane that used only to be active between 7.00am and 7.00pm - my girlriend then pointed out the lane was now "active" at all times. Assuming I get picked up by the cameras does anyone know if I get points as well as a fine and do I have to wait 14 days to see if they caught me

Just a fine. Don't think there are many, if any, automated cameras, though - you'd have to be caught by an operator I think.

As an aside: 24h bus lanes. FFS WHY???

Don't have an answer but thought I'd say hello, seeing's how I thought I didn't remember posting this thread and you've been on here a LOT longer than me.

Anyway.

You will not get points , you should be notified within 14 days , if you appeal within 14 days of letter/notification being sent to you , fine will be capped at £50 - but cap may not apply if you then go for a further appeal if the initial appeal has been turned down.

Another aside. Some of the monitoring is achieved with cameras on the buses themselves.

The scamera that did me was an automatic one.

I can see the benefit (maybe ) of 7am to 7pm weekdays only - but weekends and at night - bloody ridiculous ( I was scammed on a wknd on a mainly empty road)
