Wii U controller

So, in my continued dithering about buying a Wii U to play the latest incarnation of Mario Kart, I have finally bought one. However, I think I have bought just the console (late night, ebay, under £50 listed as not working...)

Anyway. I'm having a look around and the bits that I need to complete the console and the one thing that isn't clear is the controller. Do I need the big one with the screen, or can I just live with the smaller more traditional type?

For Mario Kart, you can use the orignal Wii control, the pro control or the screen (whatever it's called) control. I've played Zombie U and Resident Evil, both utilise the screen control, I don't know if they can be played with a normal controller. If you are just sticking with Mario Kart, an original controller with wheel is fine.

The GamePad (as I found out last night it's called) is not up for sale, you have to get them off eBay if needed. I'll see how I get on without it.
