I am in the process of replacing the brake servo/booster in my 73TVR 2500M. Before starting I noticed that there is a spacer which is approximately 1/2" thick between the firewall and booster. It appears that it is made of some type of fiber board or plywood as it is crumbling apart. It is the original servo by the way. Before I start the work I wanted to obtain a replacement. Does anyone know about these spacers?? Were they the same one used in the Triumph TR6 or were they especially made for the TVR?? Some said they were 1" thick in the Tr6's I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks!

I have the exact same problem with my 73 M.
I plan to replace it with a pvc spacer (home made) can't really see why it wouldn't work as well as the chipboard it's replacing.
Maybe put a 1 or 2mm thick rubber sheet gasket between the servo and the spacer aswell.
I'd be happy to hear if that wouldn't be suitable and why?

Eta. I've just measured the one on mine as 10mm / 3/8" thick.

I replaced my chipboard mush with an aluminium spacer from a TR6, skimmed to 3/8" to suit. I think plastic would work just as well, just a bit more effort required to make out of 10mm sheet?

White nylon chopping boards are very cheap in most pound lands / hardware stores and found in most thicknesses..Very good for such spacers!!
