MKV on smart TVs
Discussion
Can anyone that has got a smart TV confirm if it plays .mkv format with disks ripped with makeMKV. I am in the market for a new TV and have loads of films already ripped to a NAS, my toshiba plays them no problem.

My Panny and Samsung TVs will play back .MKV files no problems. I use a portable toshiba canvio 1TB HDD. For some reason they are not keen on desktop HDD which are PSU powered like my Hitachi or the HGST Touro.
ETA, just put an MKV file on a USB stick and try it out on different TVs in Currys just like I did. Cheeky but who cares. Richer Sounds staff will let you do that too.
