Morning,

I have been away in Dubai for a while and upon getting back I noticed that the prices of the last of the 2 seat MC Stradale's (2011/12) seem to be on the up, I couldn't find one online that was cheaper than what I paid a dealer for mine nearly 2 years ago in fact.

Is this car likely to have an appreciating value over the next 2-5 years do you think?

My car is in literally brand new condition and has 5k on the clock.

I will be out of the UK for most of the time over the next few years and I was going to sell this car, but I wonder if it would be best to hold on to it and have a local specialist keep it tucked up and well maintained and see what happens.

I would appreciate anyone with an informed opinion on this market to chip in and see what they think?

Thanks in advance Folks.

John

i'm not a car dealer but personally i find the original 2 seaters more special than the current 4 seater even though everybody moaned about no 4 seat option when the car was new.

I think you will find prices are on the up regardless the timescale you are looking at 2-5 years won't yield any great returns when you take into account storage and maintenance costs so if you are looking for an investment look elsewhere depends what you want

Personally I think the 4 seater is the more desirable right now as there are only 2 for sale but over time this may change

Yeah I'm surprised, the four seater option seems like the perfect GT to me, so would assume they would be the sort after ones!

Absolutely love my 4 seat MC Stradale. 8k miles in and all good except for tyres shot to pieces. Been thinking about selling to make way for a pre-1972 Maserati Indy but would definitely miss it.

Needed the 4 seater with 2 kids, otherwise hard to justify over a 430 (at the time). Love the seats and zero complaints but if they had fitted the front seats from the 2-seater, well,, that would have been the ultimate for me.

How does the stradale co pair the the S?
I had a 62 reg grancabrio sport from new and liked the car but the brakes were shocking! Took it back twice as I though something was wrong!

Looking at an stradale now but need the back seat for 7 month old.

Brakes are carbon ceramic and are very very good. Align that with the Pzero Corsa tyres and the fixed rate damper set up, a massive difference to be had.

You can go deep into a corner now and with the sequential downshift, really gives you the confidence to nail entry and exit to bends.

Yes, think I will miss the car when it goes...

I don't think other than a Ferrari FF there is anything that seats 4 adults in comfort at pace? (911s don't count as 4 seaters in my eyes to any rear seat passengers over 5 years old)

Trade or retail?
Mileage?
And is that a 4 seat or 2 seat example?

Putting mine up for sale next week as have not got around to it yet.

2014 with 8.5k miles. Just paid £1,300 for 4 new Pzero corsas 100 miles ago.

Spec, colour and looks exactly the same as the one in the link above from what I can see/tell.

Awesome car but close to an Indy .....

That looks stunning, the one I'm getting is 14 months older (63 plate), similar miles, not sure on spec ( I just agreed to buy it over email, no photos, no spec sheet etc) ...and its about a brand new Golf GTI cheaper

4 Seater MC Stradale for £80kish sounds a bargain not too be missed........

Great cars, only thing that put me off slightly was that Maserati won't offer extended warranty past three years like they do on the GT S, you have to go third party.

Cars like the MC Stradale were/are not an enormous commercial success but appeal to collectors for their low production numbers and stripped out nature will at some stage experience appreciation.
Roughly there are 65 registered MC STradales in the UK and its my belief that the 2 seat option will be considered the most desirable. Why buy a car that was meant to be more of a track car? this is what the enthusiasts want, a GT with 4 seats when there was a specifically geared carbon bucket seat version is going to seem a bit of a compromise too far. assuming its kept as original factory spec will go up significantly at some point in the next 3-7 years. Do you want to own it purely for that? probably not. but you will have a great driving experience along the way. Its not the best car to buy just to sit in the garage but you try and find a perfect example of an original MC Stradale with less than 20k miles for less than £65k and you just wont, realistically they are going to go up but there's a few years in it yet. I have an original 2011 MC Stradale with all the options including the roll cage, the fire extinguisher and carbon trim and I am sure that if I still have it in 5 years time with relatively low mileage it will be worth a fair bit more than I paid for it. There are definitely better 'investment cars' out there but I don't think theres a better looking, better sounding car out there. The new Stradale is a mistake I think and while its very nice and comfortable its not got the raw nature of the original and that car will come down in value fairly quickly I think. Thankfully though Maserati doesn't bring a lot of cars into the UK every year and the general depreciation on GTs shouldn't be too bad. If you ever want to sell drop me a message
