Hi there,

Just been searching online for a Battery Booster Pack. I found the official Aston Martin one but that requires a plug socket (not rechargeable unfortunately). Does anyone know of a decent Battery Booster Pack that can be put in the boot and recharged separately? Live in a place with communal underground parking, so no battery points.

Cheers, Charlie

This might be what you're looking for?

I'm tempted to get one myself.

Surely that's exactly was he is NOT looking for given it needs to be plugged in? I think he is after something with an integral battery, i.e. something like one of these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Streetwize-SWPP5-Power-Pac...

However, these also aren't really meant to be left attached to a car battery to trickle charge it as I understand, but rather as a mobile jump pack. Not sure such a thing exists as a battery to simple recharge your car battery. Someone should invent one if not! You can get them for phones, so a bigger version for cars should be do-able.

Hi
I purchased a Sealey LS 405 lithium ion booster back
it started a totally flat M3 that had stood for a few weeks
very impressive for something you could just about put in
your pocket.
Stays charged for ages too.

I think I posted the wrong link - I've put a new link in but again this is just a booster pack not something that can be left in the car.

OP - Depending on the age of your Vantage, you have a battery isolator switch in the boot. If you activate this then you get 70 days worth of charge.

Of course you can leave a booster pack attached to your battery via the cigarette lighter plug in the boot. It's just another battery placed in parallel with the existing one. No issues with doing so.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Much appreciated.

DB9VolanteDriver - that is exactly what I am after doing. Keeping the battery in the boot attached for when I know I am out of the country for a few weeks. Trouble is I don't think any of the posted items above would work for that... unless I am being thick :-/

That Sealey booster pack will do the job. It has a cigarette lighter socket so just need to use a male to male pigtail and you are good to go.

The OP states that he has "communal underground parking".
If he has a designated parking space and presumable the underground parking has lighting could he not get an electrical socket installed near to his parking space (as a fused spur from the lighting circuit)
My car lives on my driveway and I got an MK waterproof double socket fitted on the outside wall adjacent to the car and this enables the use of the AM battery conditioner when we are away for any length of time.

Manwhoneverwas - afraid no chance of installing a socket off the wiring... very strict development where I live, but thanks for the suggestion anyways.

DB9VolanteDriver - thanks for the suggestion. Will go with that one. I assume you meant this Sealey product:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-RS131-900A-Emergenc...

rather than this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-LSTART405-Lithium-I...

Thanks everyone. TBH I dont think under usage will be a problem, since currently just looking for excuses to take the car out! ;-)

Cheers, Charlie
