Dropped the V8V off at Walton on Thames today and was treated to a walk around of a 177 the had in their showroom.

Only seen them on YouTube, something else in the flesh, blown away. Couldn't get over how wide it was at the rear.

Anyhow, told only one for sale in the world right now, on their forecourt for £1.95M.

Felt like a peasant when I left in their knackered old jeep for the courtesy car.

Incredible cars and stunning in the flesh.

Theres 2 for sale on PH so I think they might be pulling your leg there (possibly the only RHD edition for sale). I personally prefer the black one that's advertised.... not that I'd turn this down biggrin

Agreed, the black one's paint looks stunning, so much sparkle in it!

I think if I were buying a ONE 77 for this kind of money, I'd probably buy the car that was the right 'hand of drive' for me, be sure mileage/mechanical condition/price were acceptable and not worry about colour

I could then consider interior and/or exterior being redone by the factory to my specific taste - in the general scheme of things, how much could it cost for a respray to a new colour and a new colour leather/upholstery ? £50k ? £100k ? All eminently justifiable on a £2 mil car to get it just the way you want

I wouldn't say that about most older cars at this price level but I think original finish is much less important on this type of car at this age, particularly if the work is carried out by the factory and/or works

This is of course all incredibly academic for me !

A One-77 was in for service on the same day as my own AM last year.
Later that day, a surprising number of the staff were describing their ride in that car.

Possibly the mechanic did many road tests, just to be certain everything was correct. - smile

I think we're getting the message that the claim to be the only one left at HWM is a wee bit of an exaggeration wink

At the Vantage Homecoming event at the factory in 2010 there was a One-77 and we all got to have sit in it and generally put our mucky paws all over it ...wonder who it ended up being bought by ? smile

I'd be madder than Jack McMad if they did that with my car frown

No one has yet given the usual 'garage queen' warning.

Three years old.
White = 1,123 miles
Black = 685 miles

My own V8 is at times a queen, with no faults yet (he says hopefully), but I do ensure it is not idle for more than three weeks. Minimum trip 30 miles to heat everything properly.

My system would produce a minimum of 500 miles each year, so how would these One-77s be kept in perfect working order?

I learnt the hard way about storing cars, and know that the hydraulics usually tend to seize first.

Because if you can afford to buy then allow a 1.3 million car sit around then you can afford to get replaced, without blinking seized, leaking components through lack of use. And think about it, how many proper petrol heads buy these? If i remember rightly some footballer bought one and just drove it around Paris and London outside posh hotels.
