BMW 760IL, Porsche 996 Carrera 4s, Range Rover Sport Supercharged 4.2 V8, Audi A8 W12, Golf R400 (Late 2015) Do these get the name of supercar like the Diablo and the Vanquish do ? just wondering what you guys think smile

I don't think so. For one thing, I think part of a "supercar" definition means people will turn to look at it in the street. I don't think that applies to any of those.

996 turbo is more supercar than 996 C4S - and yet I'd still say it's not one (and I own one!)

Absolutely not. Think Ferrari, Lamborghini and the like. Audi R8 is perhaps borderline. 911 Turbo's also. Saloons with big engines? No way.

If all these count then mine is definitely a super car! woohoo

Not really, it is a super saloon. It is a powerful, quick, big supercharged V8. Unfortunately it is (fairly) cheap and can sit 5 people comfortably and another couple in the boot hehe That discounts it immediately from being a supercar. That being said, VXR8's are allowed entry into Supercar Sunday at Goodwood...

OP are you going for a record of how many threads you can start. First you were talking about a VW Passat or Jetta which you were going to put Brembo's on due to there superior stopping power and then change the filters etc. Have you actually decided what your are getting?

No. Some of those listed are quite interesting but really 'super' is a bit of a stretch.

The definition of a supercar is one in which you pull up at a petrol station and fill up and then the young lady behind the counter asks you to take her for a spin in it even though you are old enough to be her dad / mother.

I've seen that happen with a Mclaren MP4 12C. Doubt it would happen for a Porsche turbo.

Funnily enough that happened to me a decade ago after topping up a brand new Mitsubishi EVO VI Extreme. Looked very special back then.
