holiday remaining

I'm leaving my current role and have 5 days accrued holiday. I've been asked to take it in the next 3 weeks before my end date. No I'd be just killing time as my partner can't get off work, are there any rules either way to say you should/shouldn't be paid instead of time off.

What does your contract and / or T&Cs say about this?

This is what we do when employees resign and is fairly standard.

It's in my t's & c's that anyone leaving is expected to take any outstanding leave before doing so & that no payment in lieu will be made.

Remember that the final 3 weeks will still accrue you further holiday.
Just take it right at the end, so that you stop going in 5/6 days before your official leaving date.

...and then you could start the new role a week early and essentially get paid double for one week.....

And have a bit of a nightmare with the tax man as you now have 2 jobs
