Mad, homework is an excellent way to check a pupils understanding of a subject.

However, it has come to my attention recently, that some of my daughters teachers, know nothing about the subjects they teach, so maybe it's designed to hide this.

The time has come to let sunshine flood through the classroom window and place the learner at the centre of all endeavour.

Standards on the floor, now heading for the basement.
Pity the kids - they like and want structure and discipline in their learning, and some even enjoy knowing useful stuff.

Any bets on him having these?

2 Birkys
3 Blair-ite banners

Had some of this in California. "The children, when they express an interest in a subject, will then be encouraged to explore that theme, while Staff will act as 'facilitators' to the learning process." I am not kidding!!! Without a Casio handy, these kids could not multiply. Spelling was worse: "Well, I usually put things through "Spell Check" in MS Word before printing."

What kid wants to memorise ANYTHING??
