Clutch (again...)

Sorry, know this has been done many times before but was hoping we could get some up to date responses.

Any ideas on how much a garage would charge to change a clutch ? £800 ? £1000 ?

The action on the pedal is getting a bit heavier as I assume the clutch wears and I primarily want to change the fork (the actual clutch still feels ok, no slipping at all). Only issue is I can't do it at home as I just don't have the access with only axle stands. Just spent most of the morning under the car and I can't get a decent enough angle to get my hand in through the bell housing to all the necessary bits.

If I get someone else to do it (fork) then it seems only wise to do the clutch as well as everything is apart. Car has done just over 60k miles and the clutch is original. I'm also planning on doing around 2k miles round Europe next month after Le Mans and I really don't fancy getting stranded half way up a mountain in Switzerland...

Sorry Kris you will be paying London tax on that clutch fitment as I myself that after living in Surrey these last 12 months, is a rip off compared to the east mids.

I know too who I would be using in the east mids they have just changed names I believe???

Sorry Kris l can't recommend anyone down here l'm in Ashtead. I got my clutch done at Nottingham str8 six 3 years ago and l don't have my receipts to hand.

Peter, have messaged you again this morning. Many thanks for the kind offer.

As it turns out went back to the garage yesterday afternoon and have now managed to remove the original arm through the bell housing. I can also confirm I should be able to afford a trip round the world now with the massive additions to the swear jar... What an awkward job. Just need to fit the new arm now !

Below pic is of the original. Looks like I made the right decision I reckon as I think the pivot wasn't far away from punching through.
