Is this possible? I know you can lock the doors with the alarm fob, but a bit concerned this might activate part of the alarm too...

If the engine is running then use the alarm fob to lock the doors, the inside handles still work.

Ash, if you reprogram the alarm both doors will lock automatically when you start the engine so no need to lock with the alarm fob "manually"!

Don't know how the others here work but when my doors lock they really are locked! - eg: I can't open them with the handles at all - I have to blip the alarm fob to open them (only with the engine running though)!

Another thing - I wonder whether the alarm can be reprogrammed so that when you stop the engine the doors DO NOT open automatically as I may not be ready to alight (eg: arrived in a car-park and still sorting myself out or may be on the phone) - but the alarm insists on unlocking the doors for me - most polite so I just blip the alarm fob to lock them again whilst stationary!

Mail me through here and I'll talk you through it.

It's best kept private for obvious reasons.

Ok locks now working which is good. The other bit I hate about this alarm is that it automatically resets itself after a few minutes. I thought they stopped doing that in the early 90's.

Anyone know the way around that!

Martin, how dissapointing. I already had the chirrup noise but thought that 8,8 might be something really cool in addition, but it is just chirrup chirrup isn't it, unless you know different.

Open the door and close it again.

Mine don't. It seems to deadlock. Although it just feels all rubbery and horrible if you pull on the handle.

If you mean it goes immobilises it after a little while, then AFAICR that at Cat 1 requirement if you don't have a "chipped" key that can talk to the alarm system when you insert it to turn on the ignition.

As most mainstream cars now have chips in their keys they don't need to do that, unfortunatly the Noble uses 1990's Ford keys!

That's what I meant, it feels like if you pull too hard something will break! Also, is this safe (eg: doors locked from the inside and outside)?

Is there an echo in here???

My classic used to open the doors no problem from the inside when locked (it required two tugs), not tried the M400.

With mine, the door opens from the inside as normal when locked automatically, but once opened from the inside, you need to turn off and on again for it to relock. I'm assuming this is normal.

Martin.
