Opinions on wheel colours.

I have a Crimson Starmist Chimaera or very similar.
Am thinking of having the wheels painted in a suitable colour with just the rims in lacquered alloy, if you see what I mean.
The wheels are similar to Spiders!
Any thoughts on what colour to have them painted?

Silver looks best, a bright titanium finish works.

Original silver is the only colour I reckon. Anthracite ones just look like they've gone manky.

Mind you, the car would still look fab with pink wheels!

I worried about this so much that I ordered a set of silver and a set of anthracite for my TVR upgrade. I need a spare set for trackdays anyway. I thought the anthracites would be visually lost against the tyre colour. On the other hand everybody and his dog have silver alloys and anthracite look mean. I've chosen to fit the anthracites for road because I've been driving the car for three years with silver wheels. I fancied a change. The picture below doesn't do them justice, it's hard to take a good photo with the dull weather we've had since I fitted them two weeks ago.

Anthracite is great (ok I'm biased) but doesn't work with every colour, crimson starmist could be one of them IMO

take a look at the thread "has anybody had this done" I had my Chim 500 wheels coloured today. I have posted a link to some of the photos I taken whilst they were being done.

If the car was Black/Dark Grey and you were going for a racer/stealth type look fair enough but can't see it happening with yours/mine.

Sometimes they do get it right at the factory
