Brake Fade, very dissapointed
Discussion
Having driven some of the finest Japanese vehicles, Impreza P1 for example, I find today that on the track, Noble have ommited to supply brake fade!
Now this is not what I am used to, so here are the questions :-
Is it available as an extra?
Can I order it from the parts department?
If so, how easy is it to fit?
I await your advice and guidance.
Joust, your thoughts please?

Just try harder - it is there.

Sorry, unfortuantly you'll have to go back to the Classic model to find that.
It was deemed too "interesting", and so it was mainly removed from the 3R.
Use Bedford GT though for 5 or so laps and you could still bring on the fun of "ploughing straight on".
Unfortunatly Mr Killjoy Lee decided that that was far too much fun, so he's b******y well removed it completly from the M400. Despite sitting out for 10+ laps at a time at Bedford GT, doing repeated 140+mph stops, absolutly nothing. Not even really any "spongyness" to play with (bit like playdough, just more fun).
I want my money back - the car's no fun now

I'll be testing my nice new brake cooling mod at bedford on Feb 5th Pics soon (when I can be bothered).
Joust - what have they changed on the M400? I kind of assumed it'd be 3r brakes with hardlines?
There was a very very slight squishyness after 6 or so hard laps, but it never got worse, and actually started to get better after even more abuse after another couple of laps.
Certainly much better than I have seen on any other M12.

No - but I've driven cars that have and they all still suffered from it, particularly after being left standing after a few hot laps, even after a cooling down lap.
The pedal in the M400 was rock solid when I jumped back in it, it just didn't fade.
No idea what they have done, but it's pretty dam good.

The M400's braking system is identical to the 3R's, although there's slightly more rearward bias. All models are now fitted with solid brake lines.

Wasn't there a change a while bask to lessen the rear bias on the cars (pre M400 days)? So presumably the earlier models won't have had this?
AMG Merc said:Don't know. Certainly AG's 3 that was "upgraded" to solid lines still suffered from spongy pedals, they were nearly hitting the bottom after two sprint runs last year.
Apparently not much then...
- could be that you got so used to your "mule" that you didn't notice the marque's improvements elsewhere! :-)
Also remember that it was dam cold out there on Saturday (about 5C), so it'll be interesting to see what a summer's blat around Bedford GT shows up.
