hello V6GTO
I was going to get the battery grip with it, as I had it on my 300d and now the 20d feels small in the hand.
but after reading about an issue with the battery grip i decided to hold off for a few months.
Reading from other forums it would seem that there was a washer/shim missed out of the production which allows the grip to twist and cut the power to the camera causing lock ups.

Just gave mine a pretty severe test and no problems.
I seem to take more than 50% of my shots in the portrait format so it was a must. It boesn't look as nice as my EOS 1n+grip but it feels just as good.(don't want to put it down!)
Martin.
