Connections HDMI 4k
Discussion
Guys can someone confirm or put me right. This is how I am connected
BLUERAY TO AMP HDMI. 1
AMP HDMI 2 to TV HDMI 2 had some issues so not using ARC using optical
SKY BOX TO HDMI 3
My question is the TV says 4k is only available through HDMI 4 now does that mean I should use HDMI 4 in the AMP or leave it where it is in 2. I know we are very short on broadcast 4k but the Yamaha does upscale ie blurays.

I not 100% sure what you are trying to connect to where.
But if your amp will do HDMI pass-through, most do now so that video and audio can come out of the screen even when the amp is off, then this is what I would do.
BluRay - Amp
Sky - Amp
Amp - TV
Now if you want to use the ARC (Audio Return Channel) then find the compatible port for that from your screen and wire the Amp - TV link to that one.
But the chances are this wont be the same as the 4k compatible input.
Having said that, I would have a little play to see what device is better at upscaling, Amp or Screen.
