Red Wine = Weight Loss
Discussion
When I was out with sky, a former Miss Britain was talking about how she would drink a bottle of red wine the night before an event as it would reduce the amount of water held within the body within a very quick time, due to the low body fat, apparently you can see the skin shrinking around the muscles.
Its temporary.. Alcohol is a diuretic that causes your body to get rid of more water than it takes in.
By the next evening, the effects have worn off and and most water you drink won't be pissed out. If you've been binging on 'bad' food you might well weigh more than the night before you started drinking.
Anyone with decent muscle mass and mid-low bodyfat wakes up feeling absolutely shredded after a big night out.

Presumably Vodka would be even more effective. Beer less so. Higher alcohol, less water content to make up for the lost water.
Also, on doing some scientific research (google) I found out that it takes approximately 15 minutes of cycling (although based on the numbers they give I think it would be closer to 20 mins) to work of a pint of beer. So by my reckoning a heavy night on Friday is balanced out by 3 hours cycling on Saturday. In fact, you gain because you use the calories, but beer dose not effect fitness. Sounds like a good excuse to drink and to cycle to me.
Man maths to the rescue!

Worst "I drink nine pints on a Friday night session, then train hard on the Saturday" boast ever... Beer is good for cycling - according to the MTB magazine this month.. Theres an article on how Erdinger's 0.5% beer is an isotonic drink..
Ok its not going to get you pissed but still..

One of the tricks of the trade for photographic models who are buff is not to eat the night before or the day of the shoot but too drink red wine just before the shoot as it dehydrates you and therefore you get that super defined six pack, pecs etc.
Yep a very common thing with bodybuilders. There was a programme a few years ago where the guy just ate fish and rice cakes, but the night before his show he got blotted on 2 bottles of wine, he was cramping up on the stage due to lack of fluids all the in the name of looking 'good'.
