At the base of the gear leaver there is a small ball which swivels in a plastic bush. A Circlip holds the assembly in place but how is the ball attached to the leaver ? Presumably it is just an interference fit perhaps with a bit of retainer of some sort. Can't see that it is threaded but thought I would ask before becoming a bit more assertive with it.

My circlip popped off on a test drive whilst steve gugliami was sorting out the initial valving for the early gaz damper sets....... ended up having to be recovered back to his workshop to be repaired
