Euro tunnel web site is blocked on my works PC for some reason.

Does anyone know if its possible to change the car type on a booking.
we are booked on the 7:20 out on the thursday morning but a member of our group has sold the Jag i booked the crossing with and is now planning on taking the range rover.

We think it may just get under the 1.85m limit for cars but i dont know if they will class it differently?

Id rather sort it now than turn up and hope on the day.

You can certainly make amendments to a booking, my most recent trip last weekend I changed crossing times for both legs - no charge to change for one, £6 for the other. At the same time there was the option to change other things, pretty sure the car type etc. was there.

We modified our return on Eurotunnel this week online but didn't see an option for that. Just looked at the online confirmation sent thru while in Belgium and seen this note on it:

"At the Terminal

Your vehicle is classified as a Low Vehicle. Please follow appropriate signage when you arrive at the terminal to ensure smooth boarding. If you decide to take any roofboxes, bikes, caravans, trailers, or to take a different vehicle, please contact us on +44 (0) 8448 79 73 79 to amend your booking."

Which implies you can not do thru "MyEurotunnel" online portal ?

We get out Range Rover in 1.85m car parks. It tests your nerves a little and I always lock the suspension in lower mode.

My son has a Range Rover and we've been in it to Le Mans. It is over height so you will need to amend your booking. It's easy. Go online, quote your booking reference number and the password that you got from Eurotunnel with it, to access your booking and make the changes needed. The only possible problem is that there may be no spaces left on the double height carriages, especially for the return trip, and in this event I don't know what will happen other than you'll be given a different time.

I've phoned Eurotunnel from the M20 on the way down before to add a roofbox and change car type when a last minute change was made. Neither time was it an issue nor a charge levied

My penny's worth, It's worth contacting them early as we did the same last year at the last minute and found that they had no space in the above 1.85m section, so they had to swap us to an earlier crossing which was a PITA. This was because a friend swapped his normal car to a Toyota Hi-Lux. Although under 1.85m according to any specification we found online, Eurotunnel advise it goes in the taller section and thats fair comment when you consider that you might have roof bars that aren't accounted for etc. Plus would you really want to be the person that finds out half way down the train it's too tall!

Eurotunnel were brilliant through the whole thing and made it easy but we now always book a space in the 1.85m section and this gives the flexibility of deciding what car to take.

thanks for the help, ill give them a ring.

the height is 145cm when locked in the lower suspension mode, so if it comes to it it can go in the normal section i guess.

Quick question on a similar theme - I'm booked on the Tunnel as a "normal" car, no roof box. I'm thinking about taking a gazebo strapped to a roof rack. Total height will still be <1.85m.

Worth telling them about it or no need to bother since it's still a standard car height?

Tell them and save any bother.
I came across the other day and booked the high vehicle carriage for no other reason than I've just put a £7K set of new alloys on my Bentley. The standard carriages can be a bit tight for wider cars.
The cost is the same by the way.

Enjoy the trip.
