Mentioned on another thread. Anyone got one lying around they didn't get round to fitting. Nedd to strip out my valve so would be a good time to fit one.

Thanks.

Stewert

Not sure if they were ever available as a part, but are quite easy to make with of a bit of stainless sheet and access to a drill press. I recently made one for my car. (Assuming you mean the bent bit of metal that holds the valve). Stainless is fairly cheap, I purchased some 3mm SS sheet off the Bay of Pigs (Item 321451312827).

Carefully measure the holes and get the valve at the correct angle and remember to gently heat the sheet before bending it.

I had a batch made some time ago, completely sold out.

I was hoping that given the work involved in installing it someone may have one on their shelf.

Stainless is "a pig" to work with, to make one of these (and have it look presentable at the end) with basic garage tools would not be a five minute job, imho wink

The V8S one is just a simple right angle bracket. I made mine from an old cast alloy joist hanger and polished it on a buffing wheel.

Hi Mike
That's the best idea I've seen to date.

Thanks Alan,

Got some carriers for your rear calipers so while I'm bleeding brakes it seemed like a good time to pick up this idea I had a while back but dropped for the "easy option" when Han had some stainless brackets made to the original pattern.

Did you post a link to a supplier of stainless fittings for braided brake hose a little while ago?

Have you ever heard of brake nuts for the rigid pipes being available in stainless? I'm really not getting obsessive but it's a bit annoying when you put nice new BZP fittings on and a matter of weeks later the plating is failing irked guess the other option would be brass. And stainless is ideal for odd brackets and so on, make and fit, no messing around painting.

Great idea! You would need flexible hoses to make the most of the adjustability though. Wouldn't you?

Possibly enough "give" in the rigid pipes depending how they are routed but, yes, I've got braided hoses to and from the valve wink
