It is a tragedy-The Matrix is one of my favourite films and the sequels fall some way short of the original.

Usually when a franchise is destryoyed like that is due to a change of director.

Aliens 3 & 4, Terminator 3 etc-so what makes it even more surprising is that it was a product of the same people.

Frst matrix, Good effects, mediochre plot with a basic paradox but nothing that hasnt been done before. I'd rank the film as ok.

Other films are really bad.

OK - so the remaining two weren't as good. But its a bit fashionable to knock them. IMO they're perfectly OK and the story isn't that hard to follow...

The thing that gets me is that the first film, and to some extent the second, set it all up for a huge payoff in the third film that did not come.

At the end of the 2nd film Neo brings down the sentinals in the "real world" which raises the whole question of whether the "real world" is in fact just another part of the matrix - a dream within a dream.

It's as if they got to the 3rd film and said "right. How do we tie up all these loose ends? Oh sod it, let's not bother - let's just do an action film." and just explained the above away by saying that Neo's powers extend into the "real world" as well.

ok the firstone I understand .. I think ...

The second one .... im almost there...

Im a reasonably intelligent sort of person.. hold down quite a good job within IT etc... but the third one was utter drivvel. The fight scenes were good .... but what was the story ?

Borrow by all means, but don't buy!

I bought the second one because it was cheap and I wanted to find out what happened after the first one. I was thoroughly disappointed with it, and have lost all interest in watching the third film.

The second one is a pile of pap!

That whole bit with the frenchman what a load of shite.

and as for the architect
"You are the eventuality of an anomaly" no, your a C**t

The third one well I couldnt even write on here how bad it is.

as for it being trendy to knock teh films I don't think thats true at all. They are knocked because they are bad! very ,very bad.

Someone mentioned earlier Alien 3. Sorry but I loved Alien 3 excellent film. I don't let other peoples opinions effect me where films are concerned. I either like them or I dont.
