I am at work but there is too much ice on the roads anyway. Came in a 4x4 Jeep which handled the roads a little better than the Elise would.

Have a good day and look forward to some snaps.

tried it yesterday for the first time, didn't get bitten by the cold too badly except for my hands. Will need to invest in some gloves.

Yep, just gon back from a run to the Brecon Beacons. Fantastic day, really sunny but bloody cold. There was a ton of snow up there and loads of people sledging.

Had another problem with the cooling on the car though. Temp went up to 99 so I pulled over expecting the same problem I had last week but there was no leak. The coolant tank was full to the brim and there was steam coming from the cap.

Drove off again and the temp settles down. When I got back the level in the tank was back to normal again

What a FANTASTIC afternoon... beautiful sunshine, dry roads, and crisp, cold air for the engine to suck in!

Some snaps from the fun...

A little self indulgent perhaps, but it was such fun I just have to share!

Cheers fella's - as AC/DC said... "BAAAAACK IN BLAAAAACK"!

The trick is to give it a Meguiars 3-step every few weeks. Takes frickin ages but then all you need to do for a while is wash off grime and chamois and it's all "bling" again.

Topcat - thanks for the compliment. Your's is superb - great colour combo. Very nice toy!

Bit chilly here too (pond frozen), so I just washed mine and reseated/retightened the hardtop, which was getting very vocal when going over bumps/potholes in the road. Is there any way to stop this happenening every so often?

I usually use AutoGlym for my Elise and MGB, but I find the finish goes kind of dead-looking after a while, particularly on the MG's racing green paint. I never found a way to stop this happening, and was going to try Meguiars when I need to restock the polish.

My father swears blind the best stuff he ever used was the old-style hard pats of Turtle Wax. I found a tin, but it's apparently much softer now and nothing like it used to be. The search continues for the perfect polish

Hi Dan, I would have done if I hadn't had plans in the afternoon made with an extremely attractive young lady. Looks like a good day out had by all, hope to see you on a SELOC run sometime this year to check out the Noble .
Cheers, Tim

(P.S. looking out the window this morning I'm glad I got out when I did yesterday - looks like the snowclouds are descending on Kent. )

I was most definately out yesturday with the hood off - went through a whole tank of fuel out on the country roads and didn't really feel the cold at all - it made a refreshing change to having the hard-top on and I can't belive how different it sounds.

Spotted a Red S2 Elise outside Sainsbury's in Chichester and a silver S2 Elise on the Rowlands Castle to Emsworth road. Hello if that was you!

Also had my first proper side-ways moment and lived to tell the tale!

I make a few runs, so reasonable chance of seeing me about I'd think. Normally tend to stay in Essex for them, but made an exception this time since GF was abroad and I was bored.

Anyway you are more than welcome to poke around at the car!

So utterly gutted to have missed out on the sun, I was told that most things on the road with a soft top had them off. I polished the car over Christmas in the garage and it rained for two weeks so this would have been the perfect opportunity for its first shiny blast for a while.

I used the mequiars quick clay, its fantastic, it takes all the bobbles, tree sap etc off. Then used the cleaning wax and then the final wax stuff. I thought the quick clay was doing nothing and only did half the car and then waxed all the car. The difference was so much that I had to redo the whole car again and re wax.

The wheels are tainting though - any recommendations??.
