Running costs not really that much more tax is more servicing the same but some parts can expensive but so can the Astra. Fuel not much worse

I looked at the Astra (GTC) as a second car and by all accounts they cost as much to run as a VXR8 tbh. Whilst the V8 will have more presence and sound it is allot older in style and feel. As a weekend only toy I'd say V8 still mind as an Astras just an Astra regardless so hardly a special weekend drive. No offence intended.

Certainly not intended but spot on
Was a real impulse buy
Tweaked it
It's fun but want that torque
I'm driving up to Nottingham tomorrow to test drive it
Never driven one

Brakes on those Astras are £1200 for pads & disks from a dealer, which pretty soon will be 10% the value of the car. Its mental.

I would get out of it now before the new model comes out later this year.

That said, check on the values for the VXR8, this looks quite special, rare colour and ridiculous mileage

Alternatively these are a little older by £££ saved (that you can spend on mods smile )

Cheers without even looking at elite I bet that's a grey one with 2000 miles on it
I'm spending £21k
And this one has 29000 miles

I traded in my 10 month old Astra J Vxr for my current car HSV E2 GTS or VXR8 as they are known over here.

Fuel was 22 mpg town 30 mpg on a run.

With the 8 i get 17ish town and i got 27.4 mpg when i went to bury st edmonds and back.
