Apologies if this is a multiple repost:

I've not watched these for about 30 years, but re-discovered them on YouTube last night:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LkxGx5WJzA (part 1)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RCdRKkt4ds (part 2)

Interesting in part 1, at about 26' 40" where Duckworth is at his drawing board, musing on the idea of using a V6 with a large centrally mounted turbo, and using the pre-war concept of compounding some of the output back into the engine.

And in part 2, at about 10' 05", they use email...1980's style. Brilliant.

It's startling - and really enjoyable - to watch an engineering based documentary that hasn't been dumbed down into bite-sized 3 second shaky camera clips for today's scientifically clueless audience.

Equinox was always pretty good. It's a pity Channel 4 decided that "Big Brother" was the way to go.

If you watch carefully some bloke by the name of Ross Brawn can be spotted, apparently he went to do other things in F1...

That's actually "chat" 1980's style: VAX/VMS Phone.

It's a great documentary isn't it ? Test a brand new car by ragging it around an airfield for a bit, no H&S here...

...and where the narrator says something like "In the distant past, F1 engineering used to be men in sheds messing about with cars and engines..." then it pans to the 'state of the art' Cosworth factory which looked basically like a shed with a group of men messing about in it.
