2000 750i Sport

As owner of an old (1995)750 I figured that the only thing to replace it with was another 750, so I got this. 2000 Sport, this is the only one I have ever seen for sale in Sweden or anywhere else for that matter apart from the U.K, seen one there, and one in Germany, so they can not be that common.

Kind of a wierd spec tbh, not the high end stereo, no in-car telephone, but it has the M-contour seats, but in standard montana leather whilst my old one has nappa interiour, which quite frankly is nicer. It's in generally good nick, but it need a few grand spent on it over time to get it right, has no Style 37 wheels, and a few mechanical and electical thing need to be sorted, PDC doesn't work for instance. Luckily the engine is flawless and pulls like a train, it's not super fast but gathers speed at an impressive rate. Gearbox upshifts perfectly but can be occasionally rough on a few downshifts, will hopefully be fixed with a flush and oil/filter change. All the window trim will need a respray at some point. Feels really tight at 101000 miles on the odo. M-sport chassie really transforms the car, firm, but very comfy still.

I like this lots, more pictures definitely required though! Being a SWB must make it even rarer.

I've got a '98 740i and I can't get enough of it! These are truly great cars and a definite future classic IMO.

Love the E38, i went from a 728i to a 750iL and the difference was remarkable, never quite got used to the extra weight of the iL on twisty roads, should imagine the SWB would handle a lot better ?

Would buy another E38 someday.

BMW only made 1032 of the M73TUB54 V12's in the facelift years 1999-2001, so they are rare to begin with, would love to know the actual production numbers of 750 sports, Alpina numbers I reckon if that.

Few more pics. Window trim need painting, and I'm leaning towards a really gloss black instead of the flat black when the time comes, this one has zero brightwork, and I think it wouldn't look out of place with gloss black trim, what do you fellas reckon? And thanks for the kind words

I've only driven a LWB for a very short while, but if felt a little heavier, or atleast even more composed if anything, this one handles really well, still very heavy at two tons, so I reckon it's not all that fun in the really twisty bits on pace, but on long fast sweepers this felt and feels really planted, doesn't roll much at any speed and being somewhat wide and with a long wheelbase it feels very stable, imagine that the iL does that even better.

I'm not convinced either way with painting the trim gloss, I always feel that after the bodywork is polished/waxed the dull looking trim lets it down but then I wonder if gloss trim would look out of place....

I also have black bumper inserts being a prefacelift so it might look more odd on mine!

Have you had/driven a 740? If so, how does the V12 compare?

I believe you are right, and after a night to sleep on it ive decided to stick with the original look, flat black paint with flat clear over it. I guess it will form a nice coherence with super shiny paintwork and flat trim?

Never driven a 740 Lugy, only been driven in one many years ago, still remember the V8 rumble tho, and it felt fast. V12 is supposed to be a little faster, but I honestly doubt that anyone woyuld feel the difference in acceleration. Engine note and character however are really different, the twelve is soooo smooth.

Nice and rare 7. I think I prefer the looks of these to the previous E32. Also much more handsome than the Bangle monstrosities that followed.
