Why would we go to the Le Mans 24hrs in a KIA Sportage?
We are going in my Racing Puma as ive always done since 2000!

I love Racing Puma's. However I'd rather be in a Sportage any day for a long journey.

Because we who attend are part of the show, and that show is part of the reason we attend in the first place!

I want to see your Racing Puma on the road on the way. I don't need to see another Sportage. Hence why you're taking your Puma and why I'm taking earplugs, a breakdown policy and a Lotus smile

Simple solution, take both. Then see which car he'd rather be in when down there. He'll learn his lesson.

If you go in Sportage, SL55Kleeman will not take your photo at the Boulogne peage and therefore no one will believe you went.

Because driving something that is boring and soulless is a waste of time, effort and Money, the journey down and back are a huge part of the experience, enjoy the Puma rather than endure the Kia

Me too. Smoking down in the X5. Done the journey so many times now I simply want to get there in comfort with no fuss.

(confession. Actually I don't have anything sporty to take anyway)

Whats wrong with a Kia sportage , I would rather travel with room to take all the stuff I need than be cooped up in a puma !

Its not as if a puma is a very manly car anyway is it biggrin

I'd take the Kia - more room for stuff, more comfortable and will use less fuel too so more money for beer, steak and helicopter flights.

The puma is luxury!! We went down in my Caterham 7 last year and loved it.

If you have to explain to your mate why you'd take a FRP over a Sportage, why is he going?

I get the comfy, spacious, reliable thing...
But this a road trip, it is ALL about cars, and its only for a long weekend where you need some cash, a tent, sleeping bag, phone, a charger, some pants and some baby wipes.
Don't over think it.... enjoy it.

Also, if you decide to go to the Classic British Welcome the Kia will get waved passed the main entrance while you'd get allowed to park up with the rest of the interesting metal.

I was planning on taking my sensible Jaguar XJ, booked ferry the whole lot. But, once I put the Mazda back on the road after it's winter hibernation / upgrade it took all of five minutes to change my plans.

You cannot do Le Mans in a Kia Sportage...

Does your X5 have ACO, Radio Le Mans and White Rabbit Racing stickers on the back?

You only live once....take the Puma & tell your friend he's going on a petrol heads trip & all commonsense is banned for the trip!
