Do I need to SORN my car?

My car was due to have its MOT today but unfortunately I fell off a ladder on Saturday and am likely to be in hospital for a while and won't be driving for a while after that. The MOT will expire tomorrow. It is kept in a private garage. Do i need to do anything or just drive it to a pre-booked MOT appointment in due course? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You only need to SORN if your car isn't taxed. To get tax you need a current MOT and insurance. If your car has tax and insurance expiring at some date in the future you don't need to SORN it now.
If however it is going to be some time (say more than a couple of months) before you are well enough to drive it again then you may want to declare it SORN at the end of the month and get the refund for the unused months of tax. Then when you are well again you can drive it to a pre-booked MOT and tax it after it passes. You still need insurance to do this and it must be roadworthy.
