Hi all,

I'm going to be staying at Beausejour this year. First time to Le Mans for me. I'm arriving on Friday and don't want to get caught in what I've read about to be 'friday madness' with people insisting on me doing burnouts or vandalising my car. To that end, can anyone suggest a route into Beausejour which avoids the roads which this stuff generally occurs on?

Thanks in advance!

Go in through Arnage, which should take you to BSJ without driving past the circuit/the road where the worst behaviour occurs.

Be warned though, with the new "search every car" that happens at BSJ, you will be queuing for a while on Friday.

The spots where people gather, to a greater or lesser extent, are: Arnage village centre roundabout, road outside Camping Bleu, roundabout outside Beausejour (!), road between Beausejour and the Technoparc and the road between Houx and the tram station.

If you look at the map you'll have to go past at least 2 of those areas whichever route you take.

The good news is that if you arrive before the evening you'll not really have to worry.

Also, don't be afraid to give people a 'love tap' with your bumper if they are standing in the road pour encourager les autres.

Cheers guys. I'm getting an early tunnel crossing, so hoping I'll be there by about lunch time, so hopefully it won't have got too ridiculous by that point (I hope!)

To be honest it was not so bad outside BSJ last year as thanks to the over the top security no-one could move anywhere,

Before evening time I've never found it a real, issue anywhere on previous visits. Yes there is a bit of crowding around and encouragement to do burnouts, but if you give it a few revs and a little tyre squeal then the crowd will be on your side even in the busy areas.

This,

We stayed in BJ for the first time and I was worried about it too.

However I was always the one popping out to to the supermarkets etc, so I must have driven in and out of BJ about 6-8 times at various times and days over the weekend.

The idiots were there, but just say no/shake head and they left me alone completely.

Really wasn't that bad

Why will they be searching cars? What power do they have to do this? Obviously I won't be carrying any contraband, nor are we in BSJ but what on earth are they looking for?

They don't like glass bottles or calor gas cylinders not fixed to a caravan / motorhome (small disposable cylinders are ok I think) or fireworks

Can't remember what else they're looking for biggrin

Their Campsite, they can do as they wish. They could ban having pubic hair and check every single person entering if they wished, they don't need "powers".
