My car is getting out of its 3-year manufacturer's warranty in June.

The McLaren extended waranty is pretty pricey and apparently more limited than the original cover.

Has anyone used or can recommend third party warranty cover for McLaren or similar cars ?

How much do McLaren want?
All policies will be more limited than the original manufacturers cover.

Mine is also coming up for it's third Birthday so will be interested to see what is recommended. I am not sure if an aftermarket warranty issued by a company other than McLaren would satisfy any prospective buyers if I look to sell the car in the Summer - even if both warranties offer the same cover.

I have been quoted £3424 by McLaren for 1-year.

The thing is, who are you going to sell your car to (when that sad day arrives) ?
It is very unlikely that you will be selling it privately.
If you are selling to McLaren (quite likely actually) then they will not care and just put a new warranty on it anyway.

I paid for the McLaren Warranty last week, same price. Value for money to me, for no other reason than all work will be carried out quibble free by McLaren. For example, I have a bit of warranty work recently and Lancaster (McLaren Ascot) needed authorisation from McLaren (which was given), now I not so sure a call to a 3rd Party would be so accommodating.

Also, if/when you sell, its a massive plus for a private sale and if you sell to trade, you're refunded unused months pro-rata (if no claim).
