The automotive equivalent of an up-skirt shot I suppose...

Wondering if anyone happens to have any pics of the front end of their V8V taken from below, for example when on a garage lift?

I want to compare and contrast with the underside of my own to clarify something...

Mine is a 4.3 08MY.

If you show me yours I'll show you mine wink

Almost - I need something more from directly underneath, looking at the same sort of area.

Reason being, I stumbled across this photo...

...on a thread about jacking points (thanks to the original poster of this photo, rick-derby-). My car does not have the large, flat plate pictured with the taped cross on it, and the subframe is visible which it is not in the photo above. The underside of mine is below, both photos show the front left corner for reference.

I'm not concerned as its just been serviced at Works, who presumably would've told me if this was not normal, but wanted to see what other people's cars had underneath for comparison.

Does anyone know if AML changed the underbody setup over the model years?

Could the photo with the tape cross be of the underside of a Roadster, which (from memory when looking at the parts listing once, so happy to be corrected) has an underside reinforcing tray (or something like that) not fitted to a coupe? Kind of assumed yours is a coupe when making that statement!

According to AM's parts diagrams, this is correct. The roadster has the extra reinforcement underneath, the coupe doesn't have that.

Rich, yours is the same as mine. I jacked mine up last weekend to take the SportPack wheels off and didn't see that reinforcement plate. Can't take a phot, as it's now gone, but pretty sure yours is normal.

So the identified part added to the roadster models would be the same as, or very simlar to, the Chassis Stiffening Plates offered by DAE, etc., for fitment to coupe models? Would anybody see the benefit of fitting this to a coupe Vantage and DB9/S if not used for track work?
