Out of mere idle speculation, I checked the current price for my ferry route (Newhaven/Dieppe).

Today's price, for the self-same crossing, is now £343 which is £265 more than we paid!! eek

The phrase "robbin' b'stards' falls readily to mind.

Early bird & all that........

We did early bird in March with P&O for a Dover Calais crossing return.
£49 all in with a flexi ticket normal price is £99 I believe.
Pays (obviously) to book early.

Umm, you ARE familiar with the concept of capitalism aren't you? Prices being driven by the balance of supply and demand?

Book early and you get a cheaper price but have to commit to dates some time in advance. Leave it till the last minute and you get flexibility on dates but have to pay more for it.
