'03 A3 Brake pedal switch replacement - latest instructions?

Hi All,
Just a quickie, I hope. My OH's brake lights stuck on last night and it looks like the brake pedal switch.
Having previously had fun and games with Audi's brake pedal switches on my previous A4, can someone please confirm the correct and current replacement procedure? I'm assuming the dealer will supply the latest incarnation of the switch this evening.
Is it to simply attach the new switch and rotate it into position without pulling out the plunger and without depressing the brake pedal?
There are a lot of contradictory instructions out there and I don't want to break the new switch.
