Picked this up today. Most I've ever spent on a car but I have to say it's worth every cent!
All the usual toys plus surround cameras, soft close doors, carbon trim, etc. It's only a weekend toy but after Mon to Fri in an old Mondeo I can't see the novelty wearing off to fast.
Oh and it goes like stink even after owning some fast cars.

Does look good in white. Do you have safe parking at work? If so, use it every day. That's the beauty of M cars.

Does the bork factor not keep you awake at night?! I'm changing cars soon and can't make up my mind on v8 or v10!

TX.

Not many V10's around now with the warranty and all the essential work having been done (clutch, flywheel etc). I haven't seen any pop up as an AUC for a while too. If they did, you're looking at around £22,000.

The F12 M6 can be had on an awesome finance deal but you're still looking at around circa £800 per month for the pleasure.

For me the V10 experience was an itch I had to scratch. When I sell mine, I have nothing to replace it with. For pure theatre, I'm not sure what can top it. When you open it up, it sounds like nothing else and in a tunnel it sounds MENTAL!!!!

I'm very close to selling mine - just weeding out the idiots and their idiotic low prices - but despite the headaches it has given me, f*ck me I think I'm going to miss it big time when it goes.

The newer F1x stuff however offer thundering performance. Sad to say I got spanked by an F10 M5 but....at least mine sounded better! biggrin

Bork factor.... No issues as to experiance the car you have to suffer somewhere. Full warrentee and free inc servicing till 2018 helps though.
Had loads of positive comments already and even stock it has some decent sounds from the exhaust, not V10 but still good.

Couldn't use it every day as would be paranoid about others denting it etc, safer in the garage during the week and just a toy for weekend blasts. It will be going around Northern Europe with 3 others in July though on our annual euro tour, 3k miles worth.

Off to DMS for a "service" tomorrow so that should make things interesting. smile

When I was at Brands the other day I managed to 128mph in my car at the end of the main straight. In the hands of an ex-racing driver the F10 M5 got to 130mph with an extra passenger. Make of that what you will smile

Cheers guys. Had an interim service done by my local trusted indy yesterday since BMW servicing is a little extended for my liking. 5.5k into a 10 service interval and the oil was far from fresh so 8.5ltrs (gulp!) of nice ESP Mobile 1 and a couple of fresh air filters its ready for its DMS service now. I am sure it feels crisper as well having had those done!
Tried out full attack mode in manual with the traction in mid setting - OMG and LOL at the same time! rofl

Wait till its Winter time!

I backed my car out of the drive, hit a tiny ice patch and nearly took out the opposite neighbours Picasso! biggrin

It will be SORNed through the winter!! It is however still a PITA to get into my garage in the dry as the gearbox does not "creep" and modern garages are built for Smart cars not bloody great BMWs unfortunately. Think I will get the nose in and the missis can push me in up to my brick wheel stop whilst making broom broom noises! LOL

There is an art to parking these cars - basically you have to give it a little blip and use the momentum rather than riding the clutch and wearing it out.

Having said that I did scrape the front wing on my garage frown although my one is freaking tiny and I was pretty wasted at the time.

Carpet the walls of your garage!

My brother in law had a Lamborghini Murciaelgo for a short period of time and had to carpet the walls in his small garage to protect the paint work.

Your car HAS "Creep mode" just prod the throttle in 1st and it will edge along.

The creep mode is not like a regular automatic though. You can't control the rate of creep with the brake, if you touch the brakes it will stop. It takes a lot of getting used to, definitely put some form of protection on the garage walls if it's even slightly tight.
