Anyone taking their boat into Monaco for the Grand Prix?
Discussion
Tickets were an amazing 30th birthday present. No way I could afford them! The reason I mention VIP is I don't know if the marina usually has restricted access. Can anyone advise on this?
The boats I sell would probably look better hanging off the back of the boats usually found at Monaco!

It depends what grandstand you are in, N, O and P are all on the marina side of the track so you might be lucky. This is the view from "O" but I would guess that the access to the marina is restricted to separate pass holders.

I am sure you are aware of the georgraphy and lay out of the track but there really isnt much space between the track and the boats around the swimming pool area so from the view above, you would want to be getting access to the area on your right to find the bigger boats and I cant see that being open to the public given the space required for marshals etc.
VIP tickets will most likely be for access to the terraces on the start/finish straight so you will have fun boat spotting but wont be able to get close to them.

Thats the view from the platimum VIP terrace though I cant work out where that is...

Thanks, very useful. We're in the Beau Rivage terrace...

The last time I was there in 2007 it was very easy to access the harbour. A friend was working on one of the yachts and I certainly didn't need any kind of special pass to get down there. The trick is to go after they reopen the roads to pedestrians but if memory serves even then the only access is from Rascasse.

We were on one of the biggest yachts in the harbour but frankly the view was awful.
