17" Tyre options

Hi guys, need some help here.

I currently have 215 40 17" front and 235 40 17" rears using T1Rs. Unfortunately they don't make the rears any more so have been recommended 225 45 17".

Does anyone know of any better options and would I experience any downside to the proposed rear option?

Uniroyal Rainsport 3s are well thought of by the road only TVR community that drive their cars all year round. They have an A rating for wet weather driving. They are not expensive either if bought carefully. Around £75 each delivered.

Have just put 18 inch T1Sport rears with 17 inch T1R fronts and am perfectly happy with the performance

If you're not doing mega mileage I would go for the Toyo R1Rs.

Superior grip all round, not expensive either.

Tyres in this morning.
I've gone for the 215 40 front & 225 45 rears for comfort so we will see how we get on. Hope the width isn't a problem for the rears. It's not my daily run, just a weekend blaster for the grin top-up.
