Just booked my car in with Audi for a full service and I'm going to supply my own oil and spark plugs to soften the blow a little. Could anyone give me the code/part number of the plugs required as I'm sure my local parts stores won't list them and there's nothing in the owners manual.

The quote sheet from Audi States NGKs but no code or if there is any better alternatives.

Cheers.

Try Ebay. I got some for my S6 with the V10 engine for around £100. Not sure if they are the same ones you need though.

Out of curiosity how much will you be saving? I thought most main dealers wouldn't fit anything that they hadn't supplied?

I was told today the cost for Audi to supply the Oil (10 litres Quatntum longlife) is around £240. I picked up 12 litres of Castrol edge in Asda a few weeks ago when it was on offer at £30 for 4 litres. So that's £150 saved on oil and two litres over for top ups.
Not sure on the plugs but they charge £306 to supply and fit. I've found the same plugs (NGK PFR7W-TG) for £90 so if they have the same mark up on plugs as they do on oil there should be a bit of a saving there.

They said it's fine to supply your own parts as long as they meet or exceed OE spec.

The cost of the service is over £1300 so if I can save £200 or so just for supplying my own oil and plugs I'd be daft not to.

Wow, lots of R8 tax there! Just looked, last major we did on a 4.2 came to 700 quid. Not quite sure how any can work that out as 1300 quid.

I agree it is a bit pricey,I usually don't use main dealers but as it has a full audi history I want to keep it going as I'm sure it will help come resale, any other work I will take it to a good indie I have used many times before. It also has a knocking front damper which they said could be sorted as a good will gesture though I won't be holding my breath on that one!

The quote was for the inspection service/full health check, oil change, pollen filter, air filters and plugs.
