mytyres listing Potenza S-02

just looking on mytyres.co.uk as i need some new rears and they've got S-02's listed, i thought these were outta production?

thats the correct size for the 500 rears isn't it?

think they are Porsche only fitment as they are the tyres a lot of 911's use.

I don't understand that one either? I went for Toyos for the rear of my Griff because of the lack of SO-2s suitable for TVR - However, I have no regrets as the Toyos are excellent!

Porsche specify a particular construction of tyre (They are often marked with either an 'N', 'O' or 'P'). They work with various manufaturers to design, build test these tyres.

If you have a Porsche some insurers would insist you have appropriately rated tyres (and this could include Porsche spec).

Don't know if in practice it makes any difference to the tyre if it was fitted to a TVR.

Quite so. They are not the S02PP and should be dismissed. Porsches are much heavier than TVRs and IMHO this tyre won't be as appropriate so you may as well just go for the S03PP.

Note 1 many types of S02, 2 still in production but not for TVRs eg Honda S2000 still has them fitted new.
