Also on my shopping list , that or a E63. How does it compare to the VXR.

Do you mean Monaro or VXR8?
Mine was a big boot CV8 + Monkfish pacs to the antisocial side of 400bhp & APs. I haven't driven a VXR or VXR8.

It's a very different car. Far more refined (as you might expect). Huge amount of toys.

Engine is the reason for buying though. It is glorious. Smoother than Joe Smooth in a smoking jacket drinking hot chocolate, but hugely revvy and sounds lovely when wound out.
Brakes are a bit dead after the APs. Pads look new so that's just how they are.
More grip but tramlines more. Steering heavier but less tactile. I expect it'll be tricky to feel what the front wheels are doing when, er, pressing on,

regards,
Jet

Lovely interior design in that gen CLS. Any mods planned for it?

Also, do those have normal springs or the ABC air setup?

Very nice but these are getting old now, many of them gone through the hands of plastic gangsters lol, I was looking at the new CLA45 Shooting Brake in AMG guise, seems pretty good value for money around £44k.

No mods planned, keep this one standard I think.
ABC air. I haven't played with the settings yet. Only just discovered how to set the clock this morning!

It's two years younger than the 'ro and spending £40k+ on a car? In my dreams smile
