Now I v often been accused of being my worse enemy , today whilst doing a pleasant little drift caused 2 litres of oil I v had in the boot for some months to knock the top off and fill one side of the boot in a large pool of its self with a dribble a cross the middle, I took it to the car wash place and they removed most of it but now the carpet is saturated anything that goes in there will come out oily , this is quite bad as it's generally used for food shopping and other things that definetly can't be covered in oil - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ?

Biological washing liquid/powder should eat through the oil.

Remove and burn the carpet. Replace with new.

I made this same mistake.

I pulled the carpets and ran them through the washing machine which did an ok job.

To get them looking good again I think replacing them is the only way to go, mine is usable but not pretty.

Pull it all out and bin it. Call Dave the trimmer who will do you a new set. I had a full five litre can in mine fall over which made a big mess. I tried washing. Steaming soaking and still oil in it. Easier to bin it and get new.
