Stewing Beef - Recipes? Curry?
Discussion
We buy packages of meat from our butcher and part of this is stewing meat, we usually do a stew, but this this is getting a bit repetitive.
Looking for decent curry or pie or anything else you can think of recipes to use some of the meat up.
Ideally i'd like a decent curry - that's cookable in the slow cooker?

Beef Rendang is my favourite beef curry.
Alternatively, maybe use the meat to make a ragu or beef chilli.

I do something like this slow cooker chilli with beef or lamb but I don't usually bother browning the meat.

Chilli - it's a million times better than when you do it with mince

Beef bourginon pie's a winner too, filling slow cooked.
I've never been overly thrilled with jailhouse chilli or others that use chunks of meat. Minced beef versions are easier and nicer ime.

Stroganoff is more of a flash fry usually, I think.
Thats one way - doesn't have to be though. a slow cooked one with cheaper cuts of beef works very well indeed. My standard way of doing it is casserole style and takes about 45 - 60 mins although can be left simmering for longer. The meat ends up melting in the mouth! I've also used a pressure cooker to good effect.
I'll do the recipe with pics next time I make it if anyones interested
