As far as I am aware, they have not been phased out.

Interesting, I'm sure I read that the only radar speed measuring units on common use were Gatsos. Do any of the BIB know?

Radar guns...(SPEEDAR) are still used.......

Although they aren't a good to use at the laser ones..

What do you need to know...?

I'd be keen to know, because this is why i'm not yet pahsing out the use of my snooper in favour of a b2 because it has radar alert (even if it is a bit irritating!)

Well, was just wondering how many forces were typicaly using them still. Is it just a case that they are still being phased out as more Laser based guns are bought in, or do some forces prefer the radar units?

I can't answer for other forces..

Mine uses the Pro-laser II and the Speedar (radar)...

The Speedar gets very dusty, while the pro-laser is regularly used..

Perhaps the main reason, the the pro-laser is much better for the crowed UK roads..as it pinpoints exactly the vehicle which you are checking..
