FIA status of 996 GT3 bucket seats?

Bit of a long shot. I'm not a huge fan of my Cobra race seat and would prefer to use the original Recaro bucket for UK club racing. Unfortunately it's leather, not Nomex.

Does anyone know if the shell is FIA approved? Can't find anything online that verifies this. If so, I might consider recovering it in fabric. (Note that MSA standards do not require seats to be 'in date' hence why I would consider this).

Arse. No longer homologated for racing irrespective of manufacturing date. Are you sure the OEM seat is a Pole Position shell?

As you are clearly a fount of all knowledge, do you recommend another FIA seat that can sit on the same OEM Recaro runner? (Blue Book allows for OEM brackets which is surprising but there you go).

Arse biscuits indeed the 996 buckets are Recaro Pole Position bases......

Recaro SPG if your feeling flush ... though as Neil keeps reminding me the OMP seat is a great call for a lot less bucks !
