Thought I'd better introduce myself...as no doubt soon I'll be on here waaay too much asking for help and advice.
I've just bought this -
I collect it on the 31st from Portsmouth, so only a 3 1/2 hour 200 mile drive back to my house in the Peak district then!
It's a 1995 Chimaera in Alfa Etna black, new MOT, a few engine tweaks and bits and bobs. I test drove it, had a look underneath at the outriggers etc and fell in love. The owner is a brilliant guy who put up with all my stupid questions and was happy to help/show me things! I've always wanted one, had several cool cars (XJS V12, Porsche 944, Fisher Fury Cosworth, etc) but I always wanted a TVR!
So...is there much happening around the Peak District/East midlands? I want to get out in it as much as possible.

If you click on my profile 4th picture down shows where mine sit... It could be that they were switched off when the screen was dry. If I turn mine on with a dry screen they can hardly move or won't return to rest in place so it might be just a case of that.. Minor problemo
I 1st read your post that you had already picked it up... Can understand the excitement,the night before you pick it up there will be very little sleep going on.
Had this latest Chimaera nearly two years and if I know I'm going for along drive the next day I still get excited and struggle to sleep.. Sad hey

Welcome! Agree with Jason that the night before a TVR drive is still 
time. And I've had mine for 3 years now!
I know the A3 quite well as my son is at Portsmouth University. You'll enjoy the Hindhead Tunnel. Wind down the windows, or better still, take the lid off!
A lovely derestricted tunnel but it's not about the speed, third gear is what you need, you'll see. 
Wipers do look like dry screen syndrome. If not, remove, turn one notch clockwise and re-fit. Job done. If that's your only concern you'll be doing pretty well!

When I go to London (Redhill) 130 miles from me if can go motorway which google maps says 2Hr 8mins.
But instead I avoid motorways and go the back route for a more interesting drive but cover 145 miles which takes on average 4 hours.

Maybe Phil has a similar agenda The monthly meet on the 31st sounds good, unfortunately that's when I collect the car so I don't think I'll be back in time. I'll keep an eye out though and see what others I can make it to. We're already on a trip around the Peak District for a few days late July, and driving to Eastbourne for the airshow in August but if I'm around a run out sounds good.
The wipers look untidy to me, they're on my list of things to have a look at...I doubt they'll be the only thing needing attention though but it's all part of the fun.
Unfortunately the time to collect is probably right even though I'll be on motorways. I'm having to follow my other half in her Mercedes C180 and she's not the fastest driver! :/

East Mids TVRCC meets at the Unicorn at Langar at around 12 on the second Sunday each month. Excellent food, busy pub. All welcome. There may even be a 60 mile convoy drive from near Leicester to the pub if Jez is doing it.
15th June (Monday) - track day at Bedford Autodrome. There will be about half a dozen TVRs there. Rock up and come for some passenger rides.
There is also a Saturday morning meet north of Nottingham every month. I will try to look up where. Daz (Siliconekid45bhp) knows where it is.
