Can you fit 500 spec front disc to an early Chimp?

Sold my 500 engine to nice chap with an older 400 Chimp with the solid rea disc and the small 24mm fronts - he really needs something better - as the engine was good one. Can you space of the calipers from the hubs (presume same calipers a 500 just smaller disc) - does this mean the hub is different as the caliper id 10mm closer if 20 bigger disc on a 500 (which are still crap but better than nothing).

calipers are different too .. get the whole lot from a breaker or buy a kit from a specialist with discs, calipers (exchange units) and pads for around 320 pounds. couple with braided hoses and dot5.1 fluid for a good budget upgrade.

Did this to my 93 Chim, got front and rear discs cross drilled and skimmed (for £120)at the same time, needed to change rear hubs, the front calipers fitted with no major dramas.

Got braided hoses from RT Racing Sheffield...result 12 months down the line, good pedal feel, well balanced under braking and stops well too.

As the cross drilling was a be-spoke job I have checked for signs of cracking etc...all appeasrs well
