If I lean back hard on the drivers seat I can feel a solid bar running vertically up the seat back, this set me wondering what effect this would have on my bod in the event of a rear end shunt...

So then I looked at an alternative seat. Clive's Zertec seats look cool but at best part of a grand that's an aweful lot of

Anyone fitted any other aftermarket seats?

Blimey, I don't think there's anything in my seat back. Odd.

It's the head rest shaft, it annoys me as well. The cure is to have the existing seat sponge replaced with thicker and better quality sponge or remove the head rests.

Ah yes, the self-positioning headrest. They look nice up a bit, but always slide down under the vibration!

To save £1,000, I suppose you could pull the headreat right out and hacksaw a bit off the stalk?

I have Cerbera seats in my Griff. I had them retrimmed in a soft grey hide along with the rest of the interior. Its a sraight forward swap. The are a much improved addition imho.

Is there much of a difference between these and the standard Griff seats, width-wise? I only ask because new seats are on my extensive (!) to-do list, and a couple of people with - ah - more ample backsides than mine have found the Griff seats a bit narrow.

I recollect the last 100 'special edition' Griffs were built with Cerbera seats. They must be pretty well a straight swap. Rich...

The seats in my Griff came out of a 1999 4.5L Cerbera. I used the Griff runners and they drop stright in. They are a huge improvement over the originals. It feels like your in a real sports car.

OK, I'll try to take some pics.I have a friend who has a digital camera, although I'm not to sure how to put them on the posting.BTW all the interior has been trimmed in soft grey conolly autocalf (only the best ofcourse!!) including the roof. I really dont like the carbon roof look, a bit ticky if you ask me. Once covered in hide the inside looks finished and much more classy. The roof is also new, covered in German Mohair(don't mention that to P.W.!!)The whole job looks spot on.

Mike.

mickypee, I have noticed these seats have a deeper cushion and this causes headroom probs, have you come accross this or is it only a concern for taller drivers.....I really would like to change mine

Mike, are they the newer style Tuscan type seats they are fitting to the Cerbera or the orginal Cerbera type?

Graham

it would be useful to know what the seat runners are from originally as that would help with sourcing alternatives

1. Upload the pix to www.webshots.com (you'll have to set up an account if you don't have one already).

2. In your message here, type [pic] before the link to your photo.

3. then end with [pic] again, but put a "/" in between the "[" and the "p"!! (Can't get the display to do this correctly if I type the box properly!)

Oh, nearly forgot. Make sure there are no spaces or full stops or anything either side of the link.

Hope this helps.
