I was hoping to get some info on contractor mortgages. I've been overseas as a tech contractor for the last 7 years,n and moved to the UK a few months ago working through my ltd Co. I'm looking to get some advice on what I need to do to get a mortgage here and what kind of deals are available.
Thanks

Theres plenty of dedicated contractor financial websites that can sort out decent deals for you. Or just go and see a local advisor, contracting is very common and they'll happily check available deals available from banks/building societies for you based on your company accounts (or salary if umbrella).
I got a mortgage last year through a local advisor and I've been contracting 17 years (Ltd company). Colleague here uses an umbrella company and he got one easy enough as well.
Providing you're currently in a contract then the longer you have to show as the end date the better I think.

I went to a specialist contractor mortgage place and a local broker.

Local broker was able to get me a mortgage about 33% more than the contractor specialist.

I've used a specialist mortgage broker before, just look up contractor mortgages in Google. Don't let them try to charge you a fee for their services though, they get commission from the lenders so if they try it on, just walk and find someone else.

If you want to go direct, Halifax are contractor friendly, a lot of lenders won't be, for instance my own bank, HSBC had stricter rules for which I didn't qualify.

Oh and most will want at least a year or possibly two of company accounts to prove your company is healthy as well as a copy of your current contract.
