300SL bare chassis

Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands currently has a rolling chassis of a 300SL on display. It won't be there for much longer I've been told.

Well worth a visit.

I believe it is called a triangulated multi-tubular chassis, a form of spaceframe. There's some lovely welding on display.

Not the sort of thing you want to get in bits with an IKEA construction manual.
